The Statistical Guide of Justice (in abbreviation ISWS) is a website portal where anyone can find data on how the Polish justice system works. The portal presents data obtained from the statistical reporting of the Ministry of Justice.
We hope that facilitating access to data will enable non-governmental organizations, academics and experts, the media, and all citizens to analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system without hindrance. Feedback and conclusions from analyses are also an added value.
We encourage you to use the information contained in the various sections of our website. There you will find statistical database, information on good practices, national and international comparisons, as well as descriptions of the terms and definitions used.
The ISWS portal is currently only partially available in English. Further sections of the portal will be made available to foreign-language users over time.

The Statistics and Analysis Division in the Department of Analysis and Strategy in the Ministry of Justice collects statistical data on the activities of common and military courts, grouped by areas of law and court instance, which is obtained in cyclical statistical reporting.
Statistical information is obtained as part of official statistics on the basis of the Act of 29 June 1995 on official statistics.
In addition, statistical data on final adult convictions and juvenile sentences, obtained annually from the National Criminal Register (data from 1946), are also published.
The amount of data is also enriched with information on legally valid divorces and separations obtained in cooperation with Statistics Poland through registration cards.
The ISWS portal publishes basic statistical data and selected, cross-sectional detailed research that arouses the greatest interest of recipients.
